Non-Clinical Jobs in Hospital
Attending medical school is not an easy thing for some people. But the call to work in awarding type of work to make sick people get better sometimes belongs to someone who is not a doctor, nurse or pharmacist. Some people have a dream to work for the sacred work in helping other people. The good news is hospital has non-clinical jobs. What are those?
1. Social worker or case manager
They provide advocacy, information and other non clinical service for patient or other individuals. The social worker is responsible to handle social issues related to certain patient which are important for their recovery process in hospital. Case manager can make suggestion in special health plans for mental health patients. Both of social worker and case manager do not involve in direct medical care or medical treatment, this is the reason why this job is part of the Non-clinical jobs.
2. Accountants
This is a normal accounting work in a hospital environment. The accountants work in bank transaction, bank reconciliation, entries to general ledger. They need to know the process in hospital, the same way they need to know the process in manufacturing industry.
3. Human Resource and Recruitment
Hospital is run by hundred of people. They could be permanent worker, temporary worker or contract worker. They need human resource service regarding benefit, employee satisfaction and other aspect in human capital management. This type of job is one of the most important jobs in Non-clinical jobs
4. IT service
This is information technology service that supports the digital work in hospital. It includes the advance computerized equipment maintenance and the simple attendance control system for employees.
You don’t have to regret why you never take the test for medical doctor after high school. There are a lot of opportunities in hospital or other health care institution for Non-clinical jobs for people without health care education.
