They begin to skip meals and this brings complications that can range from constipation to problems with memory problems. If you suffer from a disease and needs to prepare their food, sometimes not have the heart to do it better and end up eating anything? that often are not as nutritious. Other reasons may be due to lack of dentition, depression, impaired in some sense as smell or taste.

What to do?

* Eat small meals more frequently. It may include nutritional supplements.

* Drink plenty of fluids like water and juices

* Eat more foods with fiber: whole grains, meats, vegetables and fresh fruit

* Eat slowly

* The texture of food should be easy to chew and digest

* Increase your intake of iron, prunes, beans, green leafy vegetables, fortified cereals, wholemeal bread and asparagus

* Use less sugar, fat and sodium

* Increase your calcium intake: nonfat milk, reduced fat cheeses and vegetables. Bread and orange juice fortified with calcium.
